Breath of fresh air within IDA, with a major change at the top of the Association: following the resignation of Emmanuel Becker, it is announced that the Board of Directors – unanimously – has identified Sherif Rizkalla, formerly the Association’s treasurer, as its new President.
One of the founding members of the Association, as well as its first president, Becker expressed gratitude and satisfaction for the path taken: “After a well-considered decision, motivated by personal and professional reasons, I have seen fit to resign as president of IDA. This experience has given me a lot: gratitude for the colleagues who together with me started this journey, and for the support and work done together with enthusiasm and commitment; satisfaction, for the many fruits already evident after a few months of work, and for the many interlocutors met and sensitized; and optimism, for a future of great growth for the Association, the members and the entire sector. This is also thanks to the new President, with whom we share the same vision and ambition: I am sure that, together with the entire IDA team, he will continue to work with dedication and competence to achieve the Association’s goals.”
Sherif Rizkalla’s remarks: “I would like to thank President Becker for the great work he has done in recent months, which has allowed us to lay a solid foundation for the future growth of the Association, and my colleagues, who have decided to put their trust in me to continue on this path. Our members know that we have a clear course to follow, in total continuity with the steps taken so far. There is much work to be done to accompany the growth of a sector, that of Data Centers, crucial to the economic and digital development of the entire country.”
This opens a new course within IDA, which continues its mission according to the goals of sustainability, energy efficiency, and recognition and enhancement of talent in the sector.
