Last Thursday, June 20, at the Hotel Villa Torretta in Sesto San Giovanni, IN PROGRESS 2024, IDA’s Summer Event, came to life. 300 attendees took part to the conference.
The event, hosted by Mariavittoria Zaglio (Class CNBC), was opened by the words of IDA President, Emmanuel Becker, on the important work done so far as well as on the state of the art of the market referring to the research carried out by the Association.
Federico Eichberg, Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, dedicated a video message to all present, emphasizing the fruitful collaboration with IDA – Italian Datacenter Association.
Very interesting was the exchange during the panel discussion dedicated to ‘The Data Center Lifecycle’, with the participation of Ruben Maffeis (Moretti Modular Contractor), Davide Macor (Edison) and Antonio Molinari (OCIS – Omega Concept Impianti e Sistemi) involved the audience telling challenges, opportunities, best practices of the sector. They talked about site selection, design, infrastructure elements and last but not least energy powering Data Centers.
Thanks to the alliance with institutions, the Data Center effect can really be multiplied to amplify the attractiveness of our territories to the maximum: this was the focus of the Round Table that saw the valuable speeches of Antonio Sclafani (Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security), Antonio Romano (AGID – Agency for Digital Italy), Paolo Pilotto (Municipality of Monza) and Luca De Pietro (Veneto Region).
The final session of the event was all dedicated to the Working Committees who told the audience about the activities and projects they have developed. On stage, the lights were shining on the representatives of the various Groups: Davide Giovenzana – Permits and Government Relations, Floriano Francesco Monteduro – Energy, Stefano Mozzato – Industry Recognition, Alessandro Caramia – Sustainability, and Alfonso Romano – Education.
The event concluded, on a summer solstice, with lots and lots of networking and cartoonist Marco Scuto’s signacopie of 001 Mɪꜱꜱɪᴏɴᴇ Dᴀᴛᴀ Cᴇɴᴛᴇʀ, the five-episode comic book series that was distributed to all attendees.
