IDA is pleased to announce the launch of the “Data Center Reputation and Value” Working Group, an initiative aimed at fostering greater awareness of the strategic role data centers play in Italy’s digital future and promoting increasingly clear, authoritative, and data-driven communication about the sector.
In recent years, data centers have become an increasingly prominent topic in public debate. The widespread adoption of technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital services has positioned these infrastructures at the core of the country’s competitiveness, while also highlighting the need to build a culture based on expertise, transparency, and open dialogue with citizens, institutions, and investors.
The new Working Group will be responsible for guiding the Association’s communication strategy to highlight the sector’s contribution to Italy’s economic and digital development. Its objectives include developing a positive and credible narrative around data centers, countering misinformation, supporting public administrations through clear and authoritative information tools, and promoting the skills and career opportunities generated by the digital infrastructure ecosystem.
The initiative also seeks to engage companies and professionals as industry ambassadors, fostering coordinated communication with the IDA Board and the Association’s other working groups. The goal is to help create a national narrative that brings the topic of data centers closer to people’s everyday lives, emphasizing their value for innovation, economic growth, and Italy’s sustainable development.
The Technical Committee will be chaired by Stefano Mozzato, Vice President Marketing EMEA at Vertiv. He will be joined by Vice Chairs Claudio Nicolò, Deputy Managing Director at EAE Italia, Marco Casaletta, Sales Manager Datacenters at Siemens, and Simone D’Innocenzo, Head of Network Engineering Services & Network Automation at Open Fiber.
Through a year-round program of activities and content, the Working Group will work to strengthen the reputation of the sector, create the conditions for the sustainable development of data centers in Italy, and reinforce their recognition as strategic infrastructure for the country’s future.
