IDA at the Forum in Masseria: the role of AI for businesses

On Saturday, February 21, Alessandro Talotta, Vice President of IDA – Italian Datacenter Association, took part in the Forum in Masseria, speaking on the panel “Competitiveness and resilience: the challenges facing Italian businesses in the AI era.”

During the discussion, Talotta highlighted how artificial intelligence represents a key lever for strengthening productivity and resilience across Italy’s business ecosystem. He also emphasized the importance of modern and reliable digital infrastructure—starting with data centers—to support AI development that is truly ethical, sustainable and aligned with the country’s growth objectives.

The panel brought together leading figures from the institutional and industrial world, including Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Regina Corradini D’Arienzo (SIMEST), Gianpiero Strisciuglio (Trenitalia), Giulio Terzariol (Generali) and Emanuela Trentin (Veolia). The discussion offered an insightful overview of the challenges and opportunities AI presents to businesses, with particular attention to governance models, data security and international competitiveness.

IDA’s participation once again confirms the association’s central role in the national debate on the evolution of digital infrastructure and the technologies transforming Italy’s industrial ecosystem.
