IDA accompanied the Lombardy Region on a visit to the Equinix data center in Settimo Milanese, together with Emanuela Grandi, Managing Director of Equinix.
The meeting was an important opportunity for dialogue on the evolution of Lombardy’s digital ecosystem and on the key role that data centers play in the region’s economic development. Central to the discussion were issues that are increasingly strategic for businesses and Public Administration alike: security, sustainability and operational continuity of digital infrastructure. The visit made it possible to observe first-hand how one of the main digital hubs in the Milan area operates, highlighting the concrete impact of data centers in delivering reliable, resilient and energy-efficient services.
IDA reaffirms its commitment to fostering continuous dialogue with institutions, with the aim of enhancing the contribution of data centers to Lombardy’s technological and economic development and supporting the definition of a solid, sustainable digital strategy aligned with the territory’s future needs.
