On Monday, March 9, Sherif Rizkalla, President of IDA – Italian Datacenter Association, Davide Giovenzana, Chair of the Permits Working Group, and Valerio Greco, Public Affairs & Communication Manager at IDA, took part in a hearing before the Fifth Committee for Territory, Infrastructure and Mobility of the Lombardy Region.
The session focused on the review of Bill No. 150, which introduces new provisions for the establishment of data centers within the region, and Bill No. 123, aimed at defining clear criteria for the regulation, location and sustainable development of data centers in Lombardy.
During the hearing, IDA contributed to the institutional discussion by presenting the industry’s perspective, emphasizing the strategic importance of data centers for the country’s competitiveness and the need for a clear and consistent regulatory framework capable of encouraging investment, simplifying authorization processes, and ensuring high environmental standards.
Participation in the hearing confirms the Association’s ongoing commitment to dialogue with institutions and to promoting a modern, secure and sustainable digital ecosystem.
