Data Center Day 2025: a nationwide success

More than 500 digital natives enthusiastically took part in the second edition of Data Center Day, the initiative promoted by IDA – Italian Data Center Association to bring new generations closer to the beating heart of the digital transformation: data centers.

Held on October 16, 2025, simultaneously in Milan, Rome and Bologna, the event engaged high school and university students through guided tours, expert talks and educational experiences inside some of Italy’s leading digital infrastructures. Participating data centers included Vantage, Retelit, CDLAN, Equinix, STACK Infrastructure, Noovle and Mediterra DataCenters.

With the patronage of the Regions of Lombardy, Lazio and Emilia-Romagna, as well as local administrations, Data Center Day offered a unique opportunity to show young people the professional opportunities available in a sector that requires multidisciplinary skills spanning technology, construction, marketing and finance.

“I am happy and proud to have brought this initiative to life with commitment and passion, in line with our claim ‘There is no business without digital, and no digital without data centers,’” said Maria Grazia Amore, Vice Chair of IDA’s Education Committee.

Institutions also played an active role, highlighting the importance of building bridges between education and industry. MP Giulia Pastorella reiterated Parliament’s commitment to dedicated data center regulation, while Pierluigi Sanna, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome, emphasized the strategic role of ITS foundations in training the professionals of the future.

Data Center Day once again proved to be a key event for promoting a culture of innovation and for enhancing the human capital that will drive the country’s digitalization.
